We have been working with the entrepreneurs behind these budding Huntsville startups since the before the competition started, as part of a high-growth startup mentoring program we are piloting. The startups took the #4, #2 and #1 places in the competition overall, they are:

The three companies were selected in August as part of a cohort of 10 startups from across Alabama and went through two rounds of comprehensive reviews of their business model, market potential, competitor landscape, financial projections, and staffing. The process culminated in a final business pitch and Q&A session in front of a group of experienced entrepreneurs and investors from across the state.

“The support from the Rocket Hatch mentors has been tremendously beneficial.
There is a big difference between how an explanation of your business plan sounds to you, and to a group of other people. The feedback that I have gotten has really enabled me to focus the message.”

The mentorship program, started as an outshoot of our successful CO.STARTERS program, helps entrepreneurs by providing mentors and guidance around select funding acceleration programs. We will continue to work in conjunction with programs like Alabama Launchpad and regional startup accelerators to provide local entrepreneurs with the support and exposure that are critically needed in the early stages of their startup life.

“The Huntsville business community has been very generous in helping start-ups and there is a strong entrepreneurial spirit here.  Rocket Hatch has done a great job organizing the mentorship teams, building the energy and focusing on specific events. Providing a system where it is very efficient for the mentor and the startup to communicate.”
